I am planning a concept based unit on "The Renaissance." My essential questions are:
What was the renaissance and when, where, and why did it occur?
What events, discoveries, and decisions made in the Renaissance effect us?
Who were the most influential people during the Renaissance?
Who were the great artists, musicians, and writers during the Renaissance?
Why is the Renaissance important to us today?
If you have any resources, lessons, activites, etc. for any of these essential questions, I would appreciate your help. I have a basic unit planned, but I want to make it more robust.
I often find great teaching resources on the PBS Teaching Website. This link will bring you to some of their suggestions for teaching the Renaissance. http://www.pbs.org/teachers/thismonth/shakespeare/index1.html
You'll have to scroll down past the lessons about Shakespeare.
