Encourage your students to discover the natural processes that shape our planet and foster curiosity about the natural world during Earth Science Week, Oct 14-20. The theme this year is “Discovering Careers in the Earth Sciences” which focuses on learning how geoscientists gather and interpret data about the Earth and other planets. National Fossil Day, October 17, lands mid-week to spotlight the unique ways in which fossils are clues to the world’s history. Celebrate in your class with this collection of resources. Students can learn about abrupt climate change, see how earth’s landscape changes through forces including volcanism, hear how weather around the world is interconnected, and discuss how the tilt of earth’s axis causes the seasons.
