Evidence Persists of STEM Achievement Gap for Girls

I read this article the other day and it made me most upset. I wonder why the USA has a much larger gender gap than other countries in STEM testing? The article states that as far as course work goes, girls test the same or higher than boys in the STEM classes. But when it goes to the big stakes testing, the gender gap appears. Stereotype threat is the author's conclusion. How sad in the USA we have to worry about this!
