The Comic Creator is the most popular resource on ReadWriteThink.org. We love it too! But, we know that it is terribly outdated and could use some new functionality.
We appreciate your help!
While I like CC for younger children, I recently saw an 8th grade class using it. After they had finished, I showed the teacher MakeBeliefsComix. All 6 classes liked it better. There are more character choices, backgrounds, and the ability to flip objects, change size, and change order.
I think CC needs to have more diverse characters (they all look caucasian to me) as well as other backgrounds.
I wouldn't want you to make it too complicated- it is great for younger students.
Great - I am glad our thinking is on the right track!
On thing I forgot to share yesterday was about the diversity of the characters. When you add a character to your panel, underneath, you will see a plus sign. If you click on that, you can change the hair type, skin color, etc. If you continue to use that version, I wanted to make sure you knew that.
Thanks again for your feedback - lisa
When we have seen comments like yours, it usually means that you need to upgrade Flash. You can check to see if you have the latest version of Flash Player by visiting http://www.readwritethink.net/util/help.html and looking at the information for your plug-ins. It will tell you what version of Flash Player you have on your computer. You can click on the Flash icon to download the latest version for free.
If this does not solve the problem, please tell me what browser (Microsoft Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, etc) and operating system (Windows XP, Mac OSX, etc) you are using -- including version numbers -- and I will investigate the issue further. Thanks – lisa
I was a little behind on the flash- but after I updated it, restarted the machine- it still did not solve the problem.
I'm using a pc with IE- as are the ones in school.
I've never seen the plus sign- you must of thought I was crazy for asking for different demographics!
