Ok, so this may not be your standard science related discussion, but we're not your standard bunch over here at Science NetLinks!
I just put up a blog post about an article I read on great gift ideas for that science happy kid or adult in your life and I'm sure that the Thinkfinity Community has some great gift ideas to add to the list.
So let's build on the test tube soap and share your science related gift suggestions, especially those idea for kids!

I gave my niece a subscription to Science Magazine for Christmas every year while she was an undergraduate student. She is now the Deputy State Epidemiologist for the state of Connecticut!
But everytime I see these lists I want to remind people that you can also make a science connection with gifts such as digital cameras, sketch pads, colored pencils, and nicely bound journals. Encourage kids to use these for science observations and backyard experiments!
An easy and beautiful gift would be to print FREE images from the Hubble Telescope. The Hubble Telescope site has an amazing image gallery. The Astronomy Printshop makes it easy to print pictures at home or at a "photo store, photo kiosk, or online photolab." You could make your own posters! The gallery has lots of great resources like videos and image tours (to explain what you're looking at). A good place to visit for anyone interested in astronomy.
