This year, the Kennedy Center presented Maximum India, a celebration of the arts and culture of India. Drawing upon the artists and programs of the festival, ARTSEDGE has produced several media-rich resources to use in your classrooms.
Younger kids will enjoy creating Rangoli using our color and pattern tool; watch video and learn about traditional Bharatananyam dance; discover ways to teach indian music with Rhythms and Ragas; and learn about one family's journey to India.
Finally, explore the richness and diversity of Indian music with Maximum India: The Music of India. This three-part audio series, hosted by PBS journalist Hari Sreenivasan, can downloaded from iTunes (http://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/maximum-india-exploration/id450506783) or accessed on ARTSEDGE (http://artsedge.kennedy-center.org/multimedia/series/AudioStories/music-of-india.aspx) with additional context for students and tips for the educator.
