You can bookmark ANY hyperlink by clicking "Create New" and then "Favorite". Once you have bookmarked something it will appear in your personal Favorites list; "MY STUFF" and then "FAVORITES"
While putting everything into a very long list might seem a bit confusing, don't forget that your list is searchable. There is a search box located at the top of your list. So you could tag your favorites with the words "Civil War" or "YouTube" or "WOW". Then when you search for your "WOW" resources your list will collapse and show only those things that match your search terms.
You can also steal (or borrow) from your friends. Feel free to visit my profile and click on "Mark's Stuff" and then "Mark's Favorites". You can search and sort my very long list of hyperlinks and then take anything you want and put it on your own favorites list. Simply click "Save as a Favorite" on the far right side of the screen.
You are so right! The Thinkfinity Community is a great place to store URLs for teaching. Using a personal tagging system is a good way to find the resources you have bookmarked. I have used Portaportal for years as a cyber-based site for storing bookmarks. I like having the Favorite Resources bookmarked in the Community so I can easily access them while I am enjoying the benefits of seeing what's happening with other educators globally in the Community.
