The website Phys Org featured an article titled, "Study finds climate change is causing modifications to marine life behavior", (August 4, 2013), that shared information from a study by an international team of scientists who conducted a global meta-analysis of climate change impacts on marine systems. They found that "warming oceans are causing marine species to change breeding, feeding, and migration timing as well as shift where they live. Widespread systemic shifts in measures such as distribution of species and phenology—the timing of nature's calendar—are on a scale comparable to or greater than those observed on land."
What climate changes have you observed that contribute to modifications in marine life behavior? How do you teach about these changes to your students? How will climate changes impact the lives of your students in the future?
