Thinkfinity and the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE)
Thinkfinity provides lesson plans, student interactives, and Web
resources aligned to national content standards. Our professional
development resources and paradigm are also aligned to the National Educational
Technology Standards for Teachers (NETS for Teachers). This alignment, as well
as our membership in ISTE 100, will further help Verizon Foundation achieve our goal of
providing every educator with quality Internet-based education resources and
the requisite professional development to use these resources effectively with
students.
Professional Development and the ISTE 100
Verizon Foundation is proud to have joined
the ISTE
100 alliance. ISTE 100 is comprised of a select group of
forward-thinking corporations and non-profits who share ISTE's commitment to
improve teaching and learning by advancing the effective use of technology in
education. Thinkfinity advances that commitment by offering quality professional
development geared to providing teachers with the effective strategies and
resources to integrate Web-based resources into their classrooms.

Verizon Foundation is also proud to announce that the International Society for
Technology in Education reviewed the program's Bringing
Innovative Ideas into Your Classroom: A Teacher's Guide, online Resources & Materials,
and Online Course and determined that these resources clearly
support implementation of the ISTE National Educational Technology Standards (NETS)
in a specific, carefully reviewed and documented manner and prepare participants
to substantially meet
NETS for Teachers. |
In addition to these items, Thinkfinity also endeavors to conduct our on-site and
Web Conferencing training sessions in a manner that is consistent with ISTE's
NETS for Teachers standards.
