My girls only have 3 more days of school left! My daughter’s 3rd grade teacher has been doing the funniest activity with the class where she thought of 20 special activities and put the activities inside of a blown up balloon. Each day, one students gets selected to pop the balloon and read the special activity. The activities include things like designing the classroom where all the students draw how they want the classroom to be set up and then they vote for the best design and then rearrange the classroom. Another activity was 5 extra minutes of recess.
What special “End of the Year” activities do you do with your students?
Thanks Tammy...Your girls are so fortunate to have such a clever teacher!
A great activity for my ELLs is making wordles...
It is a great way for students to summarize and review vocabulary related to content area topics covered throughout the year. The wordles make wonderful fridge posters for them to continue review/recall during the summer....
Marie, I love the Wordle idea! You could add all the names of the students in the Wordle so they can remember the events and the members of their class. It is a nice way for teachers to keep memories straight in their head since, well at least for me, as the years go past it gets harder to recall which events and stories go with which set of students.
