It is necessary to understand the structure and function of the brain, so you can understand where certain areas are and what they do. If the brain was damaged, by knowing the structure and functions, one can speculate what part of the brain was injured and how to apply treatment or aid.

It is important to understand the structure and function of the brain because the brain affects various areas of the body, including both voluntary and involuntary actions, and when one part was damaged, it can affect the entire body.

It is important to understand the structures and functions of the brain because we would know how our bodies and personality operates and if our personality or a certain part of our body won't work, we would know which structure and function of the brain is damaged.

It is necessary to understand the structure and function of the brain because certain areas of the brain control the functions of different parts of your body. i.e. - If the somatosensory area is damaged you would know that the person would more than likely have problems with feeling their limbs.

IT is important to understand the brain and what it does because we need to know and functions that make our brain do what it does.

It is important to understand the structure and the function of the brain because one must know the locations of the brain and what each section controls in order to understand how the brain understands, interacts, and responds to situations. Also on how the brain transforms information and sensations through nerves, muscles, and organs.

It is important to know this because if something were to happen to a person, you would understand what part of the brain is effected. You would know why the certain things are happening and possibly how to help.

To explain why we do certain things and what controls functions. Our brain is the control center and if we know how it works we will understand things a lot better

It is necessary to understand the structure and functions of the brain in case it is damaged or something happens. If someone gets hurt or their brain stops working properly, then we will be able to tell what is wrong with the person or how to heal them. If you do not know anything about the brain, then if something happens you will know nothing about what happened or how to fix it.

It is important to understand the structure and function of the brain, so that if you damage or have any of the symptoms, you will know what is wrong.Or if anyone else is damaged you can help. Also to understand certain controls and functions of the brain, so we will understand and work our brain better.

It is important because if something were to happen and the brain was injured we could better understand the effects of the damage, and how to treat it. It also explains how our brains work and why we do certain things.

It is important to understand and know the parts and functions of the brain so that if we get hurt or someone else does (head injury), we will better understand what has happened and why a person is feeling the way they do or can not react in a normal way. We can also know how to react so they will be able to communicate with us, so that we can help them.

It is important to know the functions of the brain because the brain controls almost every function of the body and if one part is damaged then it affects the entire body. If you know what the functions of different parts of the brain are then you could probably take better precautions.

It is important to understand the structure and functions of the brain, because the brain is what controls the body. This will allow you to know why you act the way you do to certain things and how the brain understands and processes the information.

Why is it necessary to understand the structure and function of the brain?

All the new research on brain plasticity shows that children are not born with a fixed amount of intelligence.  In fact, anyone can increase their intelligence at any age.  Do you remember teachers saying that taking Latin and playing chess can increase your intelligence?  Turns out, they were right.  Now scientists can measure brain activity and see new synapses being formed.

This is revolutionary on many levels including in the area of the performance of female students in math and science classes.  Stanford University psychologist Carol Dweck has done decades of work on mindsets.  Girls with a "growth mindset" are highly successful in math and science, whereas those with a "fixed mindset' are easily discouraged.  Dweck talks about how anyone can change their mindset in her book Mindset: The New Psychology of Success.  People who realize that intelligence and ability can be developed great setbacks as challenges and learning opportunities not irrevocable failures.  When girls in math and science classes were praised for effort, strategies, and taking risks their performance improved across the board and they felt confident about continuing on in those fields.

As teachers and parents we enhance or inhibit children's intelligence by the way we react to their successes and mistakes. Dwerk encourages educators to praise the way students get their answers, and what strategies they use, how much effort they put in, because this fosters a growth mindset.  She warns us to stop praising them for their intelligence because that makes them more fragile. It may give them an initial high but it contributes to a fixed mindset.

There are several Youtube videos on Dwerk and she has a website with a link to an interview she did on the public radio show "To the Best of Our Knowledge."

It is important to know the structures and functions of the brain because the brain is involved with almost everything in the body in some way or another. As people we need to understand how and what we need to do to help our body the best we can.
