I have been doing my usual "summer surfing"....that is searching for new websites and resources that I can integrate into my lessons during the upcoming year...and am so eager to share some new links that I just came across. Perhaps you have some experience using these? If so I'd love to hear what you think about them.
Here are the links:
The first is the home page - hello circle - which lists a variety of resources such as online stories/books to read and listen to, phonics resources, nursery rhymes and songs. There is even a resource featuring Q&A in Japanese. (Does anyone have large numbers of Japanese students?)
The second link is for a set of interactive spelling games - great for early readers. The third link is especially helpful for ELLs - 181 TPR phrases, pictures and audio.
Please check them out...your feedback would be so helpful...
Of course, be sure to share some of the latest resources that you have discovered, too!
Has anyone had an opportunity to check the links/sites above? Would love to hear your feedback.
Here' s a continuation to above resources..I came across this one through Wonderopolis (one of my favorite sites)...on homonyms. It is wonder # 576 - What is a homonym?
This includes a video about homonyms and also compares homographs and heteronyms. I especially enjoyed the built in links and activities for Word Confusion, Homonym Word Bank and Electric Company.
Check them out...what do you think?
There are a variety of wonderful resources for teachers on Pinterest. All you have to do is search what you would like to teach and a variety of resources will appear for you. Many of them are very cute; brightly designed and are very interactive activities which will keep your students engaged. I found one activity on Pinterest in which the students had to rearrange snowmen in ABC order; they enjoyed this lesson, as did my supervisor who was observing me!
Hi Louise, thanks for the tip!
I just explored the Pinterest site that you suggested, wanted to find that snowman lesson (my kids would love it!).
I managed to join the site...did some kind of "pinning and following" but could not figure out how to conduct the search for the snowmen activity....
Please share some suggestions for navigating through Pinterest...seems like it might have a lot to offer once you join and understand its process.
Keep those ideas/suggestions coming!
Sorry it took me so long to respond! I would definitely love to share suggestions and resources! You can use the search bar on the top of the pinterest screen when you log in to search for any lesson plan topic that you wish to teach and a variety of pins should appear. I searched winter ABC order and here are the results that came up: Pinterest / Search results for winter abc order. Maybe you can find an activity that you like. You can also follow my teaching ideas pin board for activities that I have pinned. Teaching ideas. Happy Pinning!
