At this time the educational institution will remain annonymous. A couple points to the school's demographics, 91% minority and 88% Free and Reduced Lunch. They recorded Year Over Year DRA score increases. A big contributor was the students ability to identify increased number of sight word recognition. The tablets became a motivation tool to the students learning. They became more accountable to their projects. Students are engaged for longer period of times. Teachers wer able to differentiate their instruction easier to meet the needs of their students. The, the teachers and administration, feel strongly that the MLD (Mobile Learning Device) android tablets help their students achieve grade level expectations. More to come.
Hello to all! I'm here in Denver at an Education meeting for VzW. I listened to a presenter from Project Red ( www.projectred.org ). RED stands for Revolutionizing Edfucation. On the website they cover a Technology Factor report that covers 9 keys to student achievement and cost effectiveness with deploying technology. It typically has a price of $799 but is now on sales for only $100. The report speaks to results reported by 1000 schools from around the country that have deployed a variation of technology.
