The plan of Reconstruction in the South was rebuild houses, farms, stores, and other properties. Along with this, black people had the right to vote, honored to go to school, and honored to hold wonderful jobs which led the Southerners to become very angry. The North tried to convince the south that this was a good thing, but it was unsuccessful. In 1869, the South soon regained control of their state governments. The official end of Reconstruction was in 1876. Whenever Northeren soldiers weren't around, The South would then begin to mistreat blacks.

The plan for the Reconstruction of the South was to rebuild everything that had been destroyed in the war. During the Reconstruction blacks were given more freedom and privlages such as the right to vote and the right to join political groups. Many people of the South did not like the freedom of the blacks. In the 1870's even most of the Northerner's began to loose interest in Reconstruciton, and eventually the Southerner's gained back their own states and the blacks fell back under their rule.

The Reconstruction plan allowed southern states to form new governments and constitutions, as long as 10% of their voters supported the Union,  The Reconstruction plan allowed southern states to form new governments and constitutions, as long as 10% of their voters supported the Union. Almost all Northerners thought that Lincoln's plan wasn't harsh enough, because they thought that Southerners should get more punishment for trying to secede from the Union.

The Reconstruction plan would make Southerners take an oath supporting the United States.  The Southern states rejoining the Union could no longer allow slavery because the Civil War was over, and their punishment for trying to split the country in two was that they had to free all slaves. The Southerners would be allowed to form new state governments as long as 10% of the state’s voters supported the Union.

Under Lincoln's plan, Southerners who took an oath saying they would  support the Union would be granted a pardon. The terms of the Reconstruction plan allowed southern states to form new governments and constitutions, as long as 10% of their voters supported the Union. The 1860 presidential election would be the basis of the 10% of voters. Also, the new state constitutions could not allow slavery
