A few teachers in our K-8 school would like to create more opportunities for our K-8 students to use Skype and/or videoconferencing. Are there any other teachers or school out there that would be interested in joining us to:
I just read your post and would be interested in collabing with you using skype. I am a library media specialist in a K-5 school. Last year I had my fifth graders skype with former students from our school who now attend the middle school. If you are interested I would love to extend the project beyond our district.
I teach a 4th/5th Multiage in northeastern Wisconsin and would love to find some classrooms to connect with! If you have any teachers interested in emailing me, we could work on some ideas together to connect with Skype. One idea was a monthly book review...maybe we would each share 2-4 books that are popular in our classrooms and the students could work in groups to come up with a way to present it to the other class over Skype? The other ideas listed are all great, too!

Hi there. I teach 5th grade writing and would love to find a way for my students to connect with other 5th graders to share their published pieces. I can probably look into a Skype situation but would only be available to do so from 1:45-2:45 EST. Otherwise we could discuss a blog or wiki to share with each other. How does this sound to anyone? Let's get it going!
I am the scheduler for a K-5 school. We videoconference as much as possible with other classes. It's a wonderful learning experience. I will pass this along to the teachers in my school. We are located in Farmingdale, NY, about 35 miles east of NYC>
How are you? I forgot about this site!
We should talk and see what we can come up with in regards to my 8th grade H&CS students teaching a nutrition lesson or reading activity to one of the kindergarten classes, as part of their role as "early childhood educators".
I teach 7th grade English and would love to do cross-class book clubs/book discussions! I did something similar to this last year and my students loved it! Please contact me so we can collaborate!
I am the Technology Coordinator/Computer Teacher/Geek of an Independent Early Learning through grade 6 School. We are looking for ways to use Skype in our classrooms to fascilitate online interactions in a safe controlled way. We are two weeks into the year and if you would like to try and set something up I would be interested. Our first graders do a Flat Stanley project, our 3rd grade studies the 50 states, our 5th grade studies American History up to the Civil War and our 6th graders student ancient civilizations. We could also possible do some sort of science study based on the biomes found in our areas.
I am a high school marketing teacher, and the reason I am replying is because I am going to attempt to set up a skype relationship with a class in Germany, France or China. I thought I would post this here in case anyone wanted to learn from my process. As I read your posts I will take your experiences to help improve mine.
It looks like you find quite a few people to collaborate with using Skype. I just wanted to let everyone know that Skype offers lots of support for teachers through their Skype in the Classroom program. If you don't connect with someone here, you might check that out.
