Now that warmer (sometimes MUCH warmer weather!) has reached us, what do you do to stay active as a family? Do you exercise together? What sports are your children involved in during the summer?
My son plays competitive soccer on three teams, so we seem to stay busy all summer long (all year long, really). My daughters are younger and not as into sports yet, so I try to exercise with them by going on hikes together. We call them "turtle hunts," since we walk in the woods and look for turtles.
What does your family do?
Dear Justina, we walked the steps at the Red Rocks Amphitheater in Denver, which was quite a workout. Just looking at those running those steps is an exercise. Very nice meeting you at ISTE. I hope yours is a lifetime of exercise. Paying it forward, or something like that.
I love to go to Stroller Strides, which is an exercise class similar to a boot camp where you can bring kids in a stroller. It is a great way for me to get in my exercise, for my 2 year old to be out in nature and play with the other kids after the workout is complete. Since there are Stroller Strides all over the US, we have attended classes in AZ, CA, TX and VA. During the evening classes, I bring my older children along and they enjoy riding their bikes around the park.
