Hi! I hope I'm doing this right. I know it is the end of the 2010-2011 school year, but my thoughts are on next year. I what to develop lesson and units where my students create and collaborate using online tools. I'd like to explore a couple of tools over the summer. I was thinking of using edu.glogster, museum box, and wall wisher. Has anyone used these or do you use something you like better?
I have it set up where each student makes their own poster. Then I created a rubric listing what I want them to include. My students created a picture file of their own earlier in the year and saved it to the server. Then when ever they have a photo or create something in Picnik they can save it there. It takes quite a while for my second graders to catch on to this but about 1/2 the class does very well. Some of the photos they get off the internet.
I think it is great that you are planning to explore some Web 2.0 tools during the summer to use with your students next year. That shows you are very interested in using more technology to complement your curriculum goals. I don't know if you have seen the group Online Tools for Educators. You may want to become a member of that group. There are many Web 2.0 tools discussed within that group. Some of the discussion threads may be a little overwhelming, but you can use the index to narrow your search for possible resources--Online Tools for Educators - Index.
Please share with us what tools you decide to use with your students for 2011-12.
