The first thing I took away from our session was using a social networking/blog to keep the students homework all in one place. I have started to compile all the assignments from my gradebook and have put them into edmodo for use next year. I'm thinking this can be used as a one-stop place for the students to find their work, and even (fingers crossed) get started on work early should the time arise.
Edmodo can act as a syllabus in the aforementioned way, and I can even link students to softcopies of assignments so that they can print the work themselves. This also helps me to stay organized, so I can get rid of some of the excess papers I have floating around my desk. Further, it's great for late-joining students/new-arrivals to catch up more easily.
Finally, this is a way for students to talk about the assignments as they are completing them -- they can ask their peers questions and myself as well.
