The goal is to increase the number of members in your group and in Thinkfinity Community. The purpose is to get members to find groups with similar interests as their own and to participate in the group and throughout the community. Next week, many educators will be attending ISTE 2012 in San Diego and learning about the Verizon Thinkfinity Community for the first time. Take advantage of the opportunity and start a discussion within your group that asks for folks attending the conference to respond. Make sure to use the tags ISTE and ISTE2012 so that folks can find your discussion easily.
In the Group Owners Documents, you will find the Summer Fun Challenge for Group Owners. Any one who is a member the Group Owners group, or who becomes a member of this group can enter the summer challenge. Give the name of your group, the group owner name(s) and the number of members with which you start the summer challenge.
The challenge is to increase the number of members in your group and in Thinkfinity Community. The purpose is to get members to find groups with similar interests as their own and to participate in the group and throughout the community. You too can send messages to the members of your group (see Actions menu) and ask them to invite their colleagues to join your group and explore Thinkfinity Community over the summer. What better time to network and socialize, explore and collect resources and ideas for next year, and perhaps collaborate on some themed, cross-curriculm activities. Join the fun!
The Thinkfinity Community adheres to COPPA guidelines, which requires that information not be collected from people 12 years and younger. Therefore, people under 13 years of age are not permitted to be members of the Thinkfinity Community. However, if your students are of age, you are welcome to create a group and have your students join. There are several teachers already doing this within the community. If you are interested in creating a student group, we would encourage you to read How To: Use Groups as Personal Learning Platform (tips for students/teachers).
