I hope everyone had a wonderful vacation! I surely enjoyed my time away from work. It was nice to somewhat rest my hands and mind.
Now we are back to the proverbial daily grind, at least for the next 15 days. Then winter/Christmas vacation will be here, YIPPEE!
I wanted to tell everyone we now have 13 members on our thinkfinity group, and I think that is great. Anyone is welcome to join the group. So encourage your friends, co-workers, interpreting team etc to become thinkfinity members.
The discussions have been interesting, and it is nice to know you are not alone. We are all in this together and our goal is to be the best Interpreters we possibly can.
I also encourage you to subscribe to the Interpreters in Education Settings in GA emails sent out by Donna Davis they are absolutely awesome. They are packed with information about workshop events occuring and related information about educational interpreting.
Let's discuss a "HOT TOPIC" the "L" word, that's right LICENSURE!!!
We are all aware of the recent issue with the DOAS here in GA (if you are unfamiliar with what has/is occuring, no worries let me know and I will be glad to fill you in) So my question to you as my interpreting colleagues and friends what are you thoughts on licensure? Before I express my opinions and they are strong on this subject I would like to know what other professional interpreters are thinking.
Let's talk it up...
