How To: Insert a Link in a Discussion or Document, Part 2

For advanced users, the built in HTML editor is available to add links in a discussion or document. By using HTML, you can program the link to open up in a new window by adding the code class="jive-link-custom" in addition to specifying target="_blank" in your <a> tag.

  1. Start a new discussion or document and toggle the HTML editor on by clicking on HTML located in the far right of the editor buttons above the text field. [insert graphic here] Insert the HTML code shown below replacing the URL with your link and replacing the word Thinkfinity with the hyperlinked text.

    <a class="jive-link-custom" target="_blank" href=">Thinkfinity</a>

  2. Toggle the HTML editor off to double check the link in your discussion or document.
