How To: Insert a Link into a Discussion or Document, part 2

Updated: August 26, 2012

Back to Help Center Index >

For advanced users, the built in HTML editor is available to add links in a discussion or document. By using HTML, you can program the link to open up in a new window by adding the code class="jive-link-custom" in addition to specifying target="_blank" in your <a> tag.

Directions

  1. Start a new discussion or document and toggle the HTML editor on by clicking on HTML located in the far right of the editor buttons above the text field. Insert the HTML code shown below replacing the URL with your link and replacing the word Thinkfinity with the hyperlinked text.

    <a class="jive-link-custom" target="_blank" href=http://www.thinkfinity.org">Thinkfinity</a>
  2. Toggle the HTML editor off to double check the link in your discussion or document.
