Session 1

Create a Common Core Toolkit!


All participants K - 8 will explore and take away a collection of FREE web-based resources and formative assessments to guide in the implementation of the Common Core Standards. Connections will be made to the new Teacher Evaluation System, Excellent Educators for New Jersey (EE4NJ). Join a community of innovative teachers sharing resources and research-based best teaching practices to enhance student achievement.

Session 2

10:15 to 11:15

Maximizing STEM Learning through Online and Mobile Communications: Insights Gained from Verizon's Thinkfinity Site

This hands-on session will introduce methods for designing interactive, educational, and engaging online communities based on the findings from more than two years of research conducted on Verizon's Thinkfinity.org site.  Topics to be covered include how educators can best support STEM learning through the use of online learning communities and mobile devices. Attendees are encouraged but not required to bring their own mobile devices to the session.

STEM, Mobile Devices and Thinkfinity Community- Perfect Together

Locating high-quality STEM resources for all grades can be time consuming. Explore free lesson plans, interactives, and activities as well as community support at http://thinkfinity.org. Make the most of BYOD. See fabulous STEM resources to use on your tablets and smart phones. Attendees are encouraged but not required to bring their own mobile devices to the session.
