After earning a B.A. from Capital University and an M.A. in teaching from Miami University, Tracy Cindric taught eighth grade and high school science courses for 5 years in Columbus, Ohio. Since 2005, Cindric has written and facilitated face-to-face and online science professional development courses for teachers through Miami University, Ohio University and eTech Ohio. She is currently facilitating professional development as an Instructional Coach, working with the Ohio Department of Education on the science Model Curriculum, and teaching science methods at Ohio Wesleyan University. Cindric also serves on the Ohio Resource Center Advisory Board and is the President of the Science Education Council of Ohio.

Tracy Cindric’s tireless devotion to spreading the word about the Ohio Resource Center and Verizon Thinkfinity is the primary reason she was selected for this recognition. She has presented at state and local conferences, shared Thinkfinity during professional development that she provides for school districts and buildings, and is always willing to provide training when needed. Her enthusiasm for the program never fails to get teachers excited about Thinkfinity resources.

As a Thinkfinity trainer, I love to see the excitement in teachers' faces as they discover all of the interactives available. My favorites to share are the Comic Creator from ReadWriteThink, and Turtle Pond from Illuminations. After a few minutes to investigate the site, teachers always start sharing ideas for how to use the interactives in their own classes and how they so easily support differentiation. Watching the teachers brainstorm and listening to the great ideas as they develop is so invigorating!
